Dr. Scarf is a clinical psychologist, licensed in the state of California, who received her doctoral degree in psychology from the American Psychological Association (APA) accredited California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. She completed pre and post-doctoral training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Neuropsychiatric Institute, (NPI). She is recognized by the Council for the National Register of Health Services Providers in Psychology. Dr. Scarf has a neuropsychological practice in Santa Monica specializing in the diagnostic assessment of infants, children, adolescents and adults. She holds clinical appointments at Encino Hospital, Tarzana Regional Medical Center and Los Robles Regional Medical Center. She is also the Chief Psychologist for the North Los Angeles Regional Center, where she oversees the psychological assessments of 15,000 children and adults. She has specialized skills in the assessment of neurological disorders and syndromes including epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and autism. She currently trains and supervises several psychologists.
Dr. Scarf has been appointed by the Los Angeles Superior Court as an expert in Autism and Mental Retardation. She is the past Chairperson of the statewide Association of Regional Center Agencies (ARCA) Psychologists Committee. She has lectured on psychometric assessment at UCLA, Pepperdine University and continuing education conferences throughout California.
Dr. Scarf also has a several professional affiliations, including the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), the International Neuropsychological Society, (INS), the American Psychological Association (APA), as well as the APA Division 40 (Neuropsychology). Dr. Scarf has extensive experience with children and adults through both her clinical and Regional Center positions.
